Calgary Dragon Ladies and Calgary Fire Dragons
Team Mandate: Develop a love for the sport through teamwork, practices, festival and social events. Specifically for paddlers who are interested in paddling to compete in local festivals and enjoy being active while increasing fitness through the sport of dragon boat racing.
Criteria:
- Paddle fees mandatory
- Practice once per week on water
- Paddler expected to make as many practices as possible
- All new paddlers will start on BASE mixed or women’s and be moved at the coach’s discretion
- No fitness or strength testing requirements
- Festival participation will follow the criteria in the paddler manual
- Local festivals (Lethbridge, Calgary and Sylvan Ice Festival)
- Everyone paddles
- Festivals not mandatory
- If more than 20 paddlers registered for a boat paddlers will sit out based on the points criteria as previously set out as determined by the coach

Schedule :
- On water dragon boat practice (May to October)
- Calgary Dragon Ladies Tuesday 6pm to 7:15pm
- Calgary Flying Dragons Thursday 7:15 to 8:30pm
- Spots may be made available to paddlers on other nights in availability –coaches discretion
- Indoor Pool Paddling (Inglewood) not mandatory
- Coached practices Sunday 12pm to 1pm
- Darwin Camp confirmed dates TBD – normally in late April early May
- Festivals (attendance not mandatory but strongly encouraged)
